DescriptionVauxhall teapot and lid, body of compressed spherical form with a Rococo double-scroll moulded handle and tapering cylindrical spout. Decorated in the Chinese Imari style with matching hand-painted scenes on either side depicting a bird perched on a tall rock flanked by large peonies. Painted in underglaze cobalt blue and overglaze iron red, with gilt highlights.
